Who we are
Doug Neal has over 30 years of technology industry experience including the founding of five companies and is an experienced entrepreneur, educator and venture capitalist.
Doug held leadership positions at Hewlett Packard, Symantec and iPass, and co-founded Mobile Automation, which he sold in 2005.
In 2009, Doug became Executive Director of the University of Michigan Center for Entrepreneurship and was instrumental in developing a process for teaching entrepreneurship to students, faculty and researchers.
In 2012 Doug left the University of Michigan to launch eLab Ventures, an early stage venture fund focused on disruptive technology startups in the Silicon Valley and Michigan ecosystems.
Doug is a frequent guest speaker and panelist in the Michigan entrepreneurial ecosystem and serves on the boards of Blue Medora, New Vital Signs, Akadeum, Voxel51, Refraction.AI and the Michigan Venture Capital Association. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Central Michigan University.
